Organizers:

Ke Wang (kewang@xupt.edu.cn), Xi'an University of Posts & Telecommunications

Scope and topics:

Two-dimensional materials, including 2D piezoelectric materials, 2D magnets, and 2D topological materials, have become a research hotspot in the fields of condensed matter physics, physical chemistry, material science, since the successful exfoliation of graphene. A multifunctional 2D piezoelectric materials requires the coexistence of piezoelectricity, electronic topology, ferromagnetism with high Curie temperature, excellent mechanical properties and fascinating thermal transport, which can provide a potential platform for the next-generation multi-functional electronic devices. However, the coexistence of these physical properties is rare in pure 2D material, so the functionalization is necessary to meet the needs in practical applications. For instance, the magnetic order in majority 2D magnetic materials is instable at room temperature due to the thermal fluctuation. Hence, we propose this symposium to discuss the recent advance in the functionalization and application of 2D materials.

We call for paper on the manipulation and application of electronic structure, mechanical properties, magnetic order, thermal transport and piezoelectric response in 2D materials, both experimental and theoretical studies.
